Our three week HAF programme run in partnership with Essex Activate and Essex County Council has once again been a great success. With 13 young people registered we were set for a fun filled few weeks. Some were previous participants but many were new to the sport.
Despite the weather being unpredictable the young people showed up each day with a smile on their face and were eager to learn new skills.
Each day the young people would stop fishing at 1pm to move to the gazebo where they would cook their own lunch. This required them to work in pairs. As a result if this activity we could see new friendships building. After lunch the group has some 'group' time during which, on most days they played football, again reinforce those friendships and teamwork skills.
We would like to thank:
Essex Activate and Essex County Council for the funding;
Little Easton Manor for providing a most welcoming venue;
Maidstone Angling for making sure we had enough bait each week; anf finally but by no means least
Gary Dixon for donation baseball caps to keep the young people safe in the sun, when it did decide to show.
